500px – Photography Community App Reviews

Dear 500px developers, If you want this app/website to be a social app/website, please make another one. It will be probably just another one in the internet. Leave this one for photographers. Many of us dont use flickr or Instagram to post our work because they arent meant to be for photographers. And this update of the app and website is just another flickr and Instagram for me. Here are some of the comments of 500px users from another website: "If this change was meant for photographers use, it really missed the point: - the title of an image is an essential part of it. Its not with the photo anymore, but has to be found in the details. - the tags are not needed with the photo and should leave the space for the title - I cant go to my list of photographers I follow to see their portfolio - I dont care to see a plethora of "similar" images, which they are not ..." "Somebody must have had too much time on their hands to create such a bad and ugly interface" "What is the point to have tags being bigger than the photograph???" "It is a merge of Flickr and Instagram, a step backward for me. Previous was better, more clear." "It never been worse. They managed to ruin everything, starting from application badge design..." "1) Where are my groups in the app? 2) Why do you keep making images smaller and tags bigger? Once Ive found the image I want to see, tags are superfluous. 3) The main concept behind the flow was to see images people I follow liked. Where is this now? I couldnt find it. 4) Speaking of groups, why can I only "Fav" and not "Like" in the website? 5) Also on the website, there should only be two consistent views: the image large and the image with info. Be consistent. Ive lost count of how many inconsistent UIs there are." If you want money, make new products or target new markets but dont touch 500px. We love it as it is. Give us what we need and love or make it better by keeping it for photographers. Please fix this ASAP before members leave.

A really good app to share your work

I love this app. The community is great, everyone appreciates photography in different ways and its a great place to learn and discover amazing photographers and their art.

Generally, it is nice app, a good way for photographers to interact. Dont understand the way app prioritize views of photos. I get 20 likes from ex: 30 views in first 7 minutes then looks like nobody else check the photo!!

This a very good app, but the lack of having the info/like features in landscape mode on the iPhone prevents a five star rating. This is especially silly considering the majority of images are best viewed in landscape.

I love 50px . Its easy and cool

Unless you arent in to photography, or great quality pictures. Taken by fascinating people, then this isnt the app for you... Otherwise follow, like, and share this app to those people who needs a great photographer.

I love how you get notifications of your photos, be it ( likes,ratings, added to a gallery) whatever. Then the next day you get the same notifications AGAIN, and think you had some great resurgence in the viewing community, but no....they are just duplicates. Also, on your home feed, every fricking day, it will have a profile pic matched to the wrong picture until you reload the thing a couple of times. Im paying you with the best plan, quit wasting my money and time with this poor excuse for an app!

Great app. Perfect for artists. So many great work on here

I was one of the first users on Instagram years ago. It was such an awesome place to share work and find other people to collaborate with. Ive watched it steadily decline over the years to nothing more than butt selfies, yoga poses, and gym selfies. Its become worse than Facebook (ewww). I downloaded 500px this morning and as soon as I uploaded a few images and browsed around a little I realized that it has the feeling of the old Instagram. But better. Thank you for giving me a new home to share my work. I fully support your app 1000%.

Absolutely best way to enjoy life in photograph society!

I never knew there was an app. As I am new to these types of apps. Lol. I must say I like the app and I enjoy sharing photos with people from around the world. Awesome!

I am an armature photographer. This apps opened up a door to a whole new world for me. Simply awesome!

Looking all the amazing shots just makes me want to do my best everytime Makes me feel Im actually there in other peoples frames love this app!!!!

this app is a garbage kludge of apis and frameworks. barely responsive, notification nightmare, and help together with scotch tape and bubble gum.

This light version of 500px is super buggy, I miss the last dark themed version of the app. The last version was better looking and easier to navigate, and less buggy!

This app creates so much inspiration. I love the community.

This app is great, I love it. Its great on a desktop and on a smartphone. I have always seen photos from 500px but never checked out 500px for myself. Glad I finally did. Great way to get yourself out there, be inspired and see the world through others lenses. I love this app!

Needs some improvements to navigation.
