500px – Photography Community App Reviews

When compared to other photo sharing sites this one is really for the artists. Beautiful pictures everywhere

Amazing app and database for inspiration and just sharing beautiful photos.

500px is an excellent site, especially if you want to see some amazingly talented photography. I would say without trepidation, that some of the best photography in the world can be found here if you look hard enough. Where it FAILS miserably is its rating system. Really, really poor images can receive hundreds of votes and simply stunning images can get next to nothing or are virtually ignored. Since it is the patrons who vote, it comes down to whether or not your image is seen by those with an eye for a good image before it disappears under the deluge of images posted daily. Also, 500px was designed for Photographers to post their very best images yet the site is cluttered with images a Kodak Instamatic 900 would be embarrassed to take. The concept of the site is excellent and well worth joining, you will see some stunning images by some truly excellent world class photographers. You just have to have the patience to sort through the really bad ones.

Where Instagram is over saturated with selfies and food photos, 500px shines. It provides a great app and an exceptional community alongside it that keep a solid stream of inspiring and fresh content coming through all the time.

This app is great and reflects most of the key features we love about the desktop version. Smooth, clean and organized. Cant ask for anything else.

For the beginner that I am this app is like being able to go out in the field anytime.

Have not had much chance to use 500px, but the edit tool named RAW, supplied by 500px is very good.
